Our History
Koboko United Sacco (KUSACCO) was established in 2003. It is a member owned, member controlled and member governed tier 4 micro finance institution.
It owes its existence to a group of women called the Koboko United Women Association (KUWA) who realized that a lot of people in the district of Koboko had a less involvement in socio economic development programmes because of limited access to financial services. The women teamed up to form a financial basket where they are able to save and advance loans to each other. They had no idea that concept would become an inspiration to many. They were later advised to register the small group as a Sacco. On the 17th of April, 2003 the Sacco was officially registered with the Reg. No 6720.
Since inception, the Sacco has grown from strength to strength to a clientele base of 11,000 customers and In line with the growth and expansion strategy, KUSACCO has adopted a strong, bold brand inclusive of members from all walks of life.
The Sacco’s operations are concentrated within Koboko district.
However with the growing need of financial services, KUSACCO has extended its coverage to the whole of West Nile and gives access to people in any part of the County to become members.
To cater for the growing needs of the population, the Sacco offers savings products, credit products, agent banking services, tractor hire services and mobile banking services.
